Very close to "La Rouvenède", the famous beach of Pampelonne, still preserved, offers kilometres of fine sand. Many splits make it possible to be out of sight and the sea-beds are of an exceptional beauty.

The mythic beach of Pampelonne hides botanical secrets. The dunes possess a particular flora. Sea-brushed plants grow on the rocks.

The beach of Pampelonne, situated on the city of Ramatuelle, is at the origin of the myth of Saint-Tropez. This immense five-kilometre-long bay with white sand is bordered on the north by the "Cap Saint-Tropez" and on the south by the "Cap Camarat".

The colours change depending on the current.

Twenty-seven private and public beaches share 27 hectares of the famous beach. Five paths lead to it from the "Route des Plages. It used to be a modest sand beach that sailors used to prepare their boats for the sea. It also witnessed the troops landing in Provence in August 1944.

The beach of Pampelonne, visited by jet-set members, has become one of the most famous in the world. Two clubs are at the origin of the myth of Saint-Tropez :
-  The " Tahiti Plage " was set up in 1946, using the bamboo set abandoned by the film studios of "la Victorine" (Nice) in 1935 after shooting the film "Song of Islands by Georges Manae.
-  The " Club 55 " (created in 1955), which first served as a canteen for the shooting team of the mythic film with Brigitte Bardot "And God created woman", became a well-known restaurant.

When to take a bath in Pampelonne ?

-  Do you want a crowded bath ? From July to August, Pampelonne welcomes 30,000 visitors a day. Beaches of all nature : monitored, unmonitored, public, private, and even nudist. It is not rare to come across a celebrity or a VIP. The public parking areas are plenty. For a fee of €3 to €4, your car will be parked all day.
-  Do you prefer relaxation ? During the season, Pampelonne is quieter in the morning before 10.00 am and at night after 7.00 pm.
-  And why not night-time bathing ? In the summer, the water often reaches 25° Celsius. You have to profit from the experience of swimming at night, particularly under the moonlight.
-  Do you need a tonic bath ? Some audacious people swim all year round. After all, the Mediterranean hardly ever gets below 15° Celsius !
